SUMMARY
Responsible for operation of extruder, sheet-line, and down stream equipment. Must be able to accurately tear down machinery to changeover product runs, train line operators on specific production jobs, quality checks and what to expect during a production run.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Responsible for production requirements for prime product from assigned lines.
• Operate extruder and associated equipment per company safety, quality, and production requirements.
• Identify components.
• Assures in-process inspection utilizing calipers, gauges, and rulers, double checks Process Monitoring.
• Assures parts are packaged according to packaging instructions.
• Thoroughly understands all quality documentation as it relates to production.
• Ensure that all non-conforming product is placed in a red bin.
• Execute and review necessary paperwork and documentation including recording production and scrap accounting.
• Execute tear down, set-up procedures on production jobs within quoted time allotment.
• Set up line to produce conforming product, assure all tooling and material is available prior to setup time, start up line and obtain first article approval, train operators and update the product book.
• Review Process Book prior to running production, assure proper setup methods are utilized.
• Assure product meets established quality criteria of zero non-conformances.
• Ensure application of all internal and external labels, including removal of all old labels from returnable packaging as applicable.
• Understand application of lot control numbers.
• Daily review of all applicable quality alerts.
• Must obtain a valid Forklift license.
• Communicate production and quality issues/concerns with associates, supervisor and incoming shift extrusion technician.
• Immediately notify Production Supervisor of all discrepancies to established quality checks (ie, sample boards, inspection instructions, SPC, etc.)
• Participate in team problem solving activities and continuous improvement activities. (ie, 8D’s, communication meetings, etc.)
• Responsible for following all internal and MIOSHA required safety procedures.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ie, quality manual, associate handbook, etc.)
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 1-2 years Extrusion Technician Experience.
