SUMMARY Provides the manufacturing plant and its suppliers with quality directives/guidelines to ensure customer expectations for product quality and performance are met.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Establishes departmental measurements and tracks and reports on conformance to same.
• Develop an effective quality assurance program.
• Perform and document quality requirements of the customer.
• Implement customer quality standards within the plant’s system.
• Maintain an effective Statistical Process Control system.
• Implement and maintain a customer communication system.
• Instruct the employees in the principles and techniques of quality.
• Supervise Quality Assurance Personnel.
• Perform appraisals, salary reviews, and work within departmental budget.
• Develop and maintain MOR objectives on a monthly basis.
• Set up, implement, and track plant training based on goals and objectives of the plant and Corporation.
• Customer contact for the maintenance and resolution of customer concerns.
• Advanced Quality Planning representative for new programs.
• Review and approve (if applicable) sample submissions for new and current programs.
• Internal Auditor plant representative for the ever changing quality standards.
• Provide leadership to plant personnel on the adherence to current company policies and procedures. (Corporate Policy Manual and Level II Procedures).
• Provide the most current technology in measuring equipment for visual and dimensional selected characteristics. (When applicable)
• Interface with Engineering and outside sources when specific gages are to be built for certain programs.
• Develop departmental budge and assure compliance to same.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervises up to ten employees in the quality department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. TS 16949 background. Computer literate. Injection molding and assembly background is preferred.
